Revisiting my Artistic Roots in Germany
Creativity, Art and the Healing Arts have always been inseparable for me.
In preparation for my Artist Residency at Nemacolin I visited Museum Schloss Moyland in Germany’s Lower Rhine Valley researching my favorite German Artist Joseph Beuys.
Beuys was an painter, performance artist, shaman, politician, teacher and one of the founders of the Fluxus movement.
For me personally, I love Beuys’ fascination with shamanism and how the artist can be an initiator of change.
Beuys stated that every human being is an artist. Creativity is essential for the human experience.

During the one month Nemacolin Artist Residency I had the pleasure to focus on my two fields of expertise, the Arts and the Healing Arts, including Painting, Labyrinth Walks and Labyrinth Facilitations, Teaching Guided Meditation and Sound Healing Classes and Being an Artist of Life and, of course, being inspired by the serene landscape of the Laurel Mountains.

I enjoyed the conversations and creative exchange with the fellow artists, especially Monty Montgomery, with whom I had the joy of sharing the Artist Studio for one month. Monty inspired me with good suggestions for my newest creative endeavor, the launch of my own Fine Art Jewelry Line.

The Artist Residency was a great joy and allowed me nourish my artist soul. I am thankful to Nemacolin and the Nemacolin Artist Team for inviting me.
